Healthy School
Our school is amongst just a few schools from Hradec Králové that have been classified by the State Health Institute as a “Healthy School”. This means that we undertake to educate our pupils following the principles of healthy education. This primarily concerns a comfortable school environment; the possibility of selection and adequacy in what concerns the syllabus and the cooperation of parents thereon; and motivating assessment of pupils.
Creative School
Our school has also become a part of the “Creative School” network, which means that during our lessons we proceed in accordance with the principles of activity learning. Link: www.zs-logopedicka.cz.
We provide primary education to children who have speech problems. Our pupils undergo above-standard speech therapy during the entire course of them attending our school or over the period of time their speech defects prevail.
Regular and systematic individual speech therapy in class as well as out of class guarantees high effectiveness in the remedy or lessening of speech defects.
Pupils are taught according to ordinary educational programs in the same way as at other primary schools. If they so wish, pupils can transfer to a primary school near their home once their speech defect has been remedied. However, most pupils get used to the nice environment of this school and stay on until ninth-grade. Then they continue in their studies at a specialized secondary school, grammar school, or training college.
The number of children per class is around 14. This number allows the teacher to take on an individual approach to each child. The demands placed on our pupils are comparable to those required by other primary schools. Therefore, it is not possible to educate mentally disabled children in our classes.
